The DfT went on to say that around a third of homes in England do not have off-street parking, making it extremely difficult to charge an electric vehicle overnight. The DfT has described take-up of the On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme as “extremely disappointing”, after it emerged that just five councils in the UK have taken advantage of the electric car scheme.
