New guidance has been developed to help protect self-driving cars from hacking. The UK market for connected and automated vehicles is forecast to be worth up to £52 billion by 2035.

As vehicles get smarter and more opportunities for smart mobility emerge, the threat of hacking and theft also increases. The standard, developed with partners from the automotive industry, means manufacturers can demonstrate that they are following key principles of cyber security for automated vehicles.
