SAF sponsor new Skills & Development Motor Trader Award
On 10 July Motor Trader held its annual Industry Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. This year SAF worked with Motor Trader to set up and sponsor a new Skills & Development category.
Over 10,000 downloads of SAF Essentials factsheets
New SAF Essentials factsheets - providing foundation level learning for new to dealership staff - have been downloaded over 10,000 times since they were launched by the FLA in March 2019.
Dealership Consumer Attitude Survey published
The trade body for franchised dealers, the NFDA, published their Consumer Attitude Survey 2019, which revealed high levels of consumer satisfaction in the aftersales sector. Overall, 83% of consumers said that they were either ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied’ with their experience at a franchised dealership. The percentages of satisfaction for independent garages and high street national chains were respectively 82% and 66%.

Under the spotlight – FCA final findings on its review of motor finance
The FCA took over regulation of the consumer credit market, including motor finance, in 2014. It wanted to find out more about what was happening in the market, and if there were any risks as a result of lending, and identify opportunities to clarify what firms should be doing to provide the best service to consumers.
FLA launches new SAF training options to improve industry skills
The Finance & Leasing Association’s (FLA) Specialist Automotive Finance (SAF) programme has been relaunched in partnership with The London Institute of Banking & Finance, with an improved range of training options for dealership staff that will further increase the professionalism, skills and knowledge in this sector.
